Bio
I am a Canadian artist born in 1973. I obtained a bachelor degree in theatre arts in May 1995 at the Academy of Arts, Egypt followed by my diploma in interior design decorating in November 2004 at ICS, Canada. In addition, I have studied two courses in drafting (free hand drawing) and computer graphics (3D Studio) at Cairo University, Egypt.
I have also had the opportunity to visit many countries including Japan, the United States, Italy, Egypt, Canada, Greece, Switzerland, Holland and the UK and my work has been exhibited in many galleries across the UK, Japan, Canada and Egypt.
In addition, I have worked as an interior designer as well as a freelance artist in Egypt, Canada, Japan and UK for many years. I have extensive experience in the following tasks; fine art (oil painting, acrylic, gouache, water color, collage art, drawing, glass painting and pastel); craft art (paper, wood, leather, fabric, models, recycle stuff and sculpture); creating new ideas, colors, design, mix between old and new ideas and using computer graphics (Photoshop, 3D Studio and Microsoft office); theatre design decorating (costume, light, drama, music, used photography art as background or part of scene in design theatre décor , research in art history, theatre history, fashion period, furniture period); application in interior and exterior design to solve floor and space plan design, negotiation skills, budget analysis and project proposal formation.
Through my career, I have received several prestigious awards and merit certificates, including: New Entrepreneur Scholarship (NES), North East Business & Innovation Centre, Sunderland, UK; the best photographer award (first place), Koryu Gallery, International Center of Sendai, Japan; merit certificate, Le Levant Exhibition for Fine Arts in Montréal, Canada; and merit certificate, Theatre Decor Festivals, Cairo University, Egypt.
Finally, I am a member of the following professional organizations; the Aurora Project Programme, Northumberland County Council, UK; Syndicate of Plastic Arts Egypt, International Association of Art, UNESCO, Egypt; Egyptian Syndicate of Artists, Egypt; Visual Arts Ontario, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; The Association of Professional Visual Artists, CARFAC, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
